The Ministry

Country By Country

South Africa

Racer laughing while lifting a South African child on a township playground

The Rainbow Nation. A country of extraordinary beauty and staggering inequality. Apartheid ended thirty years ago, but its legacy persists in townships, unemployment, and racial tension. The South African church is diverse, passionate, and prophetic. You will serve alongside local ministries doing township outreach, children's programs, community development, and reconciliation work. South Africa will confront you with injustice and inspire you with resilience in the same day.

Eswatini

Explore our amazing base in Eswatini
Group of smiling Eswatini children with arms around each other

The smallest country in the Southern Hemisphere and one of the most HIV-affected nations on earth. Adventures in Missions has deep roots here. You will serve alongside established AIM ministry partners doing orphan care, community health, feeding programs, and church support. Eswatini is where the World Race becomes personal - you will know people by name, eat in their homes, and carry their stories for the rest of your life.

Mozambique

Squad piled in the back of a truck on a rural road in Mozambique

A Portuguese-speaking nation still recovering from decades of civil war. Poverty is severe, infrastructure is limited, and the church is growing in communities that have almost nothing. You will serve alongside Mozambican believers doing community development, construction, children's ministry, and evangelism. Mozambique will teach you that the gospel does not need electricity to travel - it needs feet.

Australia

Squad walking together down a tree-lined city street

A first-world nation with a deep spiritual void. Church attendance has plummeted. Indigenous Aboriginal communities face systemic marginalization and poverty that most Australians prefer not to discuss. You will serve alongside Australian ministries doing urban outreach, indigenous community engagement, and church revitalization. Australia will surprise you - the need is real, it is just hidden behind nice beaches and good coffee.

Papua New Guinea

Three Papua New Guinean women in traditional dress with face paint and feathered headpieces

One of the most linguistically diverse and least developed nations on earth. Over 800 languages. Tribal communities in the highlands have limited access to healthcare, education, and the gospel. This is raw, frontier missions. You will serve in communities where your presence may be the first Christian witness they have encountered. PNG will push your limits physically and spiritually and remind you why the Great Commission includes "the ends of the earth."

Indonesia

Racer playing with Indonesian children in a village courtyard

The world's largest Muslim-majority nation. 270 million people across 17,000 islands. The Indonesian church exists in tension - vibrant in some regions, persecuted in others. You will serve alongside local believers doing community development, interfaith dialogue, youth outreach, and discreet evangelism. Indonesia will teach you what it means to be a light in a place where the light is not always welcome.

Philippines

Racer laughing with a Filipina woman and children in their neighborhood

A majority-Catholic nation with a growing evangelical movement. Typhoons, poverty, and political instability create constant need. The Filipino church is warm, generous, and worship-oriented. You will serve alongside local ministries doing disaster relief, community development, children's programs, and evangelism. The Philippines will wrap you in community and send you into the streets to serve, and you will not be able to tell where the worship ended and the ministry began.

Malaysia

Sky bridge over misty jungle mountains in Malaysia

A multiethnic, multireligious nation where Islam is the official religion but Christianity exists alongside Buddhism, Hinduism, and indigenous faiths. Ministry is relational and cross-cultural. You will serve alongside Malaysian believers navigating one of the most complex religious landscapes in Asia. Malaysia will sharpen your ability to share the gospel with wisdom, sensitivity, and boldness.

Thailand

Racer hugging a rescued elephant in a Thai forest sanctuary

The Land of Smiles is 95% Buddhist with a Christian population of less than 1%. Sex trafficking, exploitation, and spiritual bondage are realities that ministries confront daily. You will serve alongside organizations doing anti-trafficking work, church planting, community development, and relational evangelism in a culture that is warm, welcoming, and profoundly spiritually hungry.

Sri Lanka

Sigiriya rock fortress rising above the jungle in Sri Lanka

An island nation still healing from a devastating civil war that ended in 2009. Buddhist-majority with a small but faithful Christian community that has faced persecution. The 2019 Easter bombings killed over 250 worshippers. You will serve alongside Sri Lankan churches doing post-war reconciliation, community development, children's ministry, and gospel proclamation. Sri Lanka will show you what it looks like to worship in a church that was bombed and chose to rebuild.

Japan

Mount Fuji at sunrise with a red pagoda overlooking the city

The most reached unreached nation on earth. 126 million people, less than 1% Christian. Japan is safe, modern, wealthy, and profoundly spiritually empty. Suicide rates are among the highest in the developed world. Loneliness is epidemic. The Japanese church is small, aging, and fiercely faithful. You will serve alongside Japanese believers doing relational ministry, English conversation outreach, community engagement, and prayer. Japan will close your Race with a question that will follow you home: what does the gospel say to a culture that has everything except hope?
